DimensionU Games has been making an impact since 2005. For over 15 years, students have been realizing the benefits of skills practice in a fun, interactive and competitive gaming environment. Those students that started with us years ago are now entering the workforce and attending college.
Where are they now? Take a look!
Rene Aguilar
2012 DU the Math - 2nd Place
National Scholarship Tournament
Bullock Elementary, Garland, TX
4th Grade
Attending: University of Texas, Dallas
Major: Finance
Currently: Student
Rene always had a love for math but traveling to the tournament in New York City inspired a desire for travel. Playing DimensionU Games helped him to realize that if he dedicated more time to school and learning, he could achieve more and be better able to travel in the future.
Zachariah Chou
2011 U Games - 1st Place (Sr. Division)
National Scholarship Tournament
Broward County Library,
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
7th Grade
Graduated: University of Florida
Major: Political Science & Journalism
Currently: Middle & High School Debate Coach
Playing DimensionU Games helped Zachariah improve his speed in solving problems and gain a spot on the math team at his school. He feels being strong numerically allows him to think quickly and speak in an educated manner, which can be very helpful when debating. Zachariah says, “Even though my work is typically seen as being part of the social sciences, there is no doubt the role that science and mathematics have when it comes to how numbers and statistics are used in the discourse on public policy. As an educator, I get to teach my students how to argue using statistics and also how to argue against them; what the numbers mean and what they don't in the context of weighty argumentative topics that impact everyday life."
Tristen Even
2011 U Games - 3rd place (Sr. Division)
National Scholarship Tournament
Austin Academy, Garland, TX
7th Grade
Attending: University of Texas, Dallas
Major: Computer Science
Currently: Student / Systems Administrator
Tristen has always loved math and says that playing DimensionU Games helped reinforce that love. “To be able to take advantage of that skill and apply it in the DimensionU video games was FUN.”, said Tristen. In particular, Tristen remembers enjoying the competition aspect of DimensionU as well as having to complete intelligent tasks alongside the course of math in the games, and as he puts it, “threading those two things together.” In addition to work and school, Tristen has also spent time being a mentor and a youth rugby coach in Germany. When asked his advice to his former self as a middle school student, Tristen said, “Prioritize relationships you have with the people in your life.”
Tyler Kapadia
2011 - U Games (Jr. Division)
National Scholarship Tournament
Walnut Glen Academy, Garland, TX
5th Grade
Attending: University of Texas, Austin
Major: Electrical Engineering & Software Development
Currently: Student / Software Developer
Playing DimensionU games helped cement Tyler's interest in math and science. He remembers being the only student from his school to attend the tournament in New York City. He was proud of what he could accomplish outside of getting good grades.
Sebastian Millien
2011 U Games - 3rd Place (Jr. Division)
2012 DU the Math – 5th place

Sebastian says, “DimensionU Games made math homework fun and approachable.” Playing DimensionU Games supported his interest in STEM and by participating in the tournaments it helped prepare him for other competitions in life. Following college, Sebastian plans to pursue graduate work in molecular biology and eventually apply his science skills in the field of archeology. He looks forward to going on his first archeological dig in the future. When asked his advice to his former self as a 4th and 5th grade student, Sebastian said, “Treasure your experiences.”
Richard Thomas
2012 DU the Math – Participant
National Scholarship Tournament
Rocco Laurie I.S. 72, Staten Island, NY
8th Grade
Graduated: University of Albany - SUNY
Major: Computer Science & Applied Mathematics
Currently: Software Engineer - Healthcare
If someone had told Richard in 8th grade that he would major in mathematics, he wouldn’t have believed them. Playing DimensionU Games taught him to seek out what he enjoyed. He found the games to be fun and the pressure of competing pushed him to try harder. He tells kids he meets today that they are more capable than they think they are. You never know what you can achieve unless you try.
Eri Vishka
2011 UGames – Participant
National Scholarship Tournament
Crystal Lake Middle, Pompano Beach, FL
6th Grade
Attending: University of Florida
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Currently: Student
Eri remembers playing DimensionU games mainly afterschool. He particularly enjoyed Meltdown but once he qualified for the competition in New York, he began to master the other games as well. The trip to the tournament was his first and, so far only, trip to New York City. He hopes to return one day soon. He has always enjoyed math and after playing DimensionU Games, he had no doubt that he would be pursuing a career in the STEM field. While pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering, Eri has participated in the Generation Relief in Prosthetics (GRiP) organization helping to develop a game controller for one-handed individuals. Advice that Eri would share with his younger self is to not be afraid to be more outgoing – to make connections and meet people – a skill that he has learned in college and has found to be very beneficial.
Victor Vu
2011 U Games – 4th Place (Sr. Division)
National Scholarship Tournament
Jackson Technology Center, Garland, TX
6th Grade
Attending: University of Texas, Dallas
Major: Computer Engineering
Currently: Student / Software Engineer
Math was not always Victor’s favorite subject. Playing DimensionU games helped inspire Victor to learn new math concepts in order to advance and score higher in the games. Victor’s advice to students today, “Enjoy learning, don’t just study to pass the test. Playing DimensionU games will help you do this.”
Elyse Winne
2012 DU the Math – Participant
National Scholarship Tournament
Dr. N.H. Jones Elementary School, Ocala, FL
3rd Grade
Attending: University of Florida
Major: Microbiology / Pre-Med Track
Currently: Student
As a 3rd grade student in Marion County Public Schools (FL), Elyse loved playing DimensionU Games so much that not only did she play them at school, but remembers literally spending hours playing them at home. She was driven by the challenge of trying to score higher on the leaderboards and didn’t really think about them as being educational. Her favorite game was Meltdown. Winning the trip to NYC to participate in DU the Math, was really exciting as a 3rd grader. During middle school is where Elyse discovered her interest in biology and started thinking about an eventual career as a radiologist. Currently, Elyse attends the University of Florida, majoring in Microbiology on a Pre-Med track with plans to go to Medical School. She is also a member of Gator Alliance for World Health on campus. Her advice to students, “Follow your passion and choose a field of study that aligns with that, so you can enjoy your passion throughout life!”
